Checklist no.1
Music Therapy

When I began this checklist I first thought of starting a new instrument, but when starting I thought it would be more beneficial to me just to learn a new song on piano, since I already knew how to play piano.

Basics of this week is to surround yourself to appreciate music and help you meditate your mind.

If you don't like music, make this week an exception. Find a genre that you enjoy.

My Example: My goal for music therapy was to learn a new song on the piano by the end of the week.

DAY no.1

  • LISTEN TO MUSIC

    • Go onto Youtube or listen to the radio, hell even go buy a CD. â€‹

  • Listen to music to build the knowledge of what you would like to learn to play. Single out an instrument that you are really interested in and focus on every sound throughout the song it makes... quite meditating actually.

DAY no.2

  • GET AN INSTRUMENT & PLAY

    • This can be tricky for some, but just go out and pick up that instrument that interested you in listening to music. Tip: Anything can be a drum.

  • Do research on that instrument. Find some of the best who have mastered that instrument and dissect their brain. My favorite is going to the library (yes those still exist) and try to find a audiobook or book on them.

DAY no.3

  • LEARN THE INSTRUMENT OR START PLAYING THE SONG

    • Take Lessons if you can, watch a lot of videos online, and/or just play the instrument to get use to how it feels.

  • Now that you are done possessing the instrument, start getting familiar with it if you haven't already. My favorite is just to go onto youtube and figuring it out all by yourself....YAY.

DAY no.4

  • PRACTICE

    • Keep practicing this day to get familiar to the instrument or song.

  • Mozart practiced music for an insane amount of hours, and wasn't just born with the talent. Imagine that.

  • Here is a video of me playing with Paisley, She was singing Click Here

DAY no.5

  • WATCH LIVE MUSIC

    • Find an open mike night, karaoke bar, bar with live music, find a concert to pay for, or just watch concert clips on the internet. â€‹

DAY no. 6 & 7

  • TRY TO PERFORM YOUR MUSIC IN FRONT OF SOMEONE

    • This is the fun part.... actually perform the instrument that you have learned in front of people. It's not only a time to show off, but to learn what you need to work on for improvement.
